Lorraine Kelly, 59, has met and interviewed her fair share of A-Listers while presenting her show on ITV. However, the Lorraine host admitted she was “really nervous” when she came face to face with Queen Elizabeth II, 93, while getting honoured at Buckingham Palace seven years ago. The star reflected on the moment during an interview with OK! Magazine. She divulged: “My mum asked me what the Queen was talking to me about and I literally had no idea!
“I was hyperventilating and crying too much.”
Addressing her emotional reaction to the monarch, Lorraine added: “I was really nervous and blood was rushing to my head so all I could hear was a rushing.
“It was like the world had sped up.”
Revealing she had some regrets about the meeting, the presenter explained: “I would love to know what she said to me.”
The TV personality also told the publication she would be interested in interviewing one of the newest members of the Royal family.
Speaking about the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, 37, she said: “I like Meghan. She’s getting a hard time but that’s inevitable unfortunately.
Comparing the Duchess to Prince Harry’s late mum, she continued: “Diana, Princess of Wales would have approved.
“The two of them would have got on like a house on fire.”
Elsewhere, Lorraine Kelly recently caused a stir when she appeared to snub her former GMTV co-star Esther McVey, 51, live on ITV.
The moment took place when Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 54, asked her if she remembered the politician from their days on the programme together.
In response, Lorraine bluntly replied: “Yes.”
The star began to giggle awkwardly, while Esther, 51, sat next to Piers in the studio.
Piers picked up on the apparent tension between the pair as he insistently asked: “So, you got on with Esther then Lorraine?”
“I don’t remember, I don’t remember at all. It was a long time ago,” she said.
Piers then made light of the situation as he jokingly added: “Ooh, if looks could kill!”
