Posting her before and after transformation on Reddit, user “cheerfulsarcasm” shared how she used the ketogenic, or keto, diet to change her lifestyle and lose an incredible 100lb (7st 2lb).
It took her 18 months to make the jaw-dropping transformation after initially trying to lose weight for a friend’s wedding in May 2017.
Posting her before and after pictures online, she revealed she is 31-years-old, 5ft 3in, and has dropped from her starting weight of 260lbs (18st 8lb) to a much trimmer 160lbs (11st 6lb).
The reddit user explains that the low-carb high-fat keto diet was the reason behind most of her weight loss, and she added intermittent fasting to help her lose the final few pounds.
Explaining her diet, “cheerfulsarcasm” said: “I lost the majority of the weight doing keto. I have switched to low carb/IF (intermittent fasting) as sort of a ‘maintenance’ lifestyle.”
She explained her switch to low-carb and fasting as she found the keto diet to be quite strict and requires “no cheating” and how she now prefers a more flexible approach.
Intermittent fasting is when slimmers only eat within a set time period of the day or they restrict their calorie intake on set days.
After posting her transformation online, “cheerfulsarcasm” has received 168 comments and floods of praise from people admiring her transformation and wanting diet tips.
But just how did this diet work for her?
The Reddit user explained: “I tracked my carbs religiously for a long time but now I mostly eyeball it as I know what to eat and what to avoid. The only difference is I may have a french fry or two or some ice cream now and then.

The keto diet requires eating less than 50 grams of carbs a day to put dieters body into a state called ketosis, which is then meant to encourage your body to burn more fat.
Low-carb foods that are recommended on the diet include meat, fish, eggs, vegetables and natural fats such as butter or olive oil.
High-fat foods are preferred, so it is good to opt for fatty fish like salmon to get increase your intake of fat.
Drizzling olive oil on salads and cooking in butter or coconut oil will also up your fat intake.
