The Walking Dead season nine has already seen a lot of deaths and exits.
The first one that comes to mind is Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) who left the show later year.
Rick will be back in a trilogy of TV movies which will air on AMC, however, since his exit the Hilltop Colony have found him very difficult to replace.
Andrew’s character was a natural born leader, and no one’s really been able to replace him.
Now with Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) exit which will take place in season ten, the colony is looking very short on potential leaders.
However, there are a few names which come to mind while discussing potential leaders.
Those leaders are Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming), Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus).
In a recent poll conducted by Express.co.uk, fans of the series voted on which character they felt would be the next leader of the Hilltop Colony.
It was a very close vote, yet in the end, viewers opted for Daryl with 30 per cent.
However, close behind Daryl is Aaron with 29 per cent, which is an interesting choice.
In third place came Judith Grimes, which isn’t surprising since she’s still so young and isn’t quite ready to lead a community of people.
However, she certainly will be ready in the years to come and could become just as good a leader as her father.
In last place was Negan with just 19 per cent, which also should come as a surprise given his rather notorious past.
Negan has been a leader before, and it didn’t turn out very well.
That said, it does seem as though he’ll be doing a lot of soul searching in upcoming episodes.
There are also rumours that Negan could end up killing the show’s latest villain, Alpha (Samantha Morton).
However, in the comics, Negan offers Alpha’s severed head to Rick, who’s no longer part of the main series.
Therefore, he’ll probably end up gifting it to another leader, potentially Daryl Dixon and it could start a new bromance which fans really want to see.
The Walking Dead season 9 continues Sunday on AMC and Monday at 9pm on FOX in the UK.
