Today’s edition of the BBC show was fronted by Matt Baker who was joined by Alex Jones stand-in Michelle Ackerley.
Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Begum was also in the studio talking to discuss her cooking.
In addition, she brought along a cake for The One Show as today’s instalment saw a focus on food.
In a pre-recorded segment, the show covered the rise in popularity of dessert restaurants in the UK.
However, as the programme cut back to the studio, Matt revealed why it wasn’t a good time for them to be showing so many sweet treats.
“This is bad timing for me this film,” he admitted.
Michelle then added: “It’s shocking isn’t it, for you.”
Explaining why, Matt told Nadiya: “Because I’m trying to cut down on my sugar.”
“And how long has it been?” Nadiya asked.
Matt detailed: “I’ve done a week so far. I’ve done really well. I’ve actually noticed quite a difference.”
Michelle exclaimed: “You’ve got cake right here!”
“I know. But I’m holding off,” Matt said.
Nadiya was on hand to give cooking tips, speak about her cookbook as well as talk about her battle with anxiety.
The baker fronted a documentary about the subject in the programme Nadiya: Anxiety and Me earlier in the year.
Viewers were delighted to see Nadiya on their screens this evening and took to Twitter to comment.
“So good that Nadia is so open and such a good example. Gives hope to people with depression and anxiety,” one wrote.
Another shared: “Oh Nadiya @BegumNadiya you are a delight, will be looking for your book.”
“@BegumNadiya watching #NadiyaHussain on #TheOneShow what a beautiful inspiring person,” a third stated.
While a fourth opined: “I love seeing @BegumNadiya on the TV. She is just amazing! #TheOneShow.”
The One Show continues tomorrow at 7pm on BBC One.
