Strictly Come Dancing: Faye Tozer ditches Giovanni for Saturday Kitchen appearance | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Saturday Kitchen hosted star Faye this morning, who was thrilled to be on the cooking show.

However, host Matt was quick to point out she had ditched her tour rehearsals for the appearance.

“Now you should be, you told me earlier, you should be in rehearsals now,” Matt explained.

Smiling, Faye simply confirmed she was meant to be training: “Yeah.”

Matt continued asking if she would really be up so early dancing: “I mean, really, could you be bothered at this time in the morning?”

“Usually yes but obviously this was much more important seeing you,” she said cheekily.

Matt asked: “Okay, are they going to be dancing or watching this?”

“They are,” the 43-year-old shared. “I’m really sorry Giovanni is going to be flying solo this morning.

“But yeah, it’s all good, I’m happy to be here and eat some food.”

Later in the show, Faye opened up on her nerves while she took part on the BBC competition, explaining co-star Kate Silverton tried to help her focus on the live shows.

“Strictly was a totally different kettle of fish, I got so nervous,” Faye commented.

“Like the second and third week in, I was like physically shaking, it was just kind of the pressure is so heavy, I guess.

“But then Kate Silverton, one of my good friends on Strictly, she was like giving me tools on how to put my nerves somewhere else and focus on it, use that to perform.”

She added it helped a little depending on which routine she was performing.

While Faye and her partner Giovanni didn’t lift the Glitterball Trophy last year, they still have the chance to win on tour.

They will be joined by winner Stacey Dooley, who is partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec.

Stacey’s partner from the series, .

Joking about his replacement on Good Morning Britain this week, Stacey laughed: “I love Kev but it just wasn’t working out.”

She added she missed him, explaining: “I Facetimed him and it was like, oooh, hello!”

Saturday Kitchen airs Saturday on BBC One at 10am.
