Who do you think will win Strictly Come Dancing 2020?
The first episode of Strictly Come Dancing 2020 aired last Saturday on October 17, and fans were thrilled to see the popular dancing competition return.
There have been some changes put in place as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, including the fact only 12 competitors are participating this year.
The professionals and celebrities had to isolate together in a unique bubble to they could perform together on stage.
During the premiere episode, fans saw pre-recorded videos of the celebrities matched with their professional partners, and there are some very interesting combinations.
Oti Mabuse, who won last year’s competition with Kelvin Fletcher, was partnered with comedian Bill Bailey, who has already demonstrated some promising moves.
At the end of the episode, the couples performed a group dance, which gave some indication of how they could fare in the competition.
The two biggest threats at the moment are EastEnders star Maisie Smith and her partner Gorka Márquez. Smith took part in the Children In Need special with Kevin Clifton and she won the charity contest, which sets her in good stead for victory.
Despite testing positive for coronavirus just before the series aired, singer and YouTuber HRVY has also shown promising signs of success.
There are some very nervous contestants this year, with The Wanted’s Max George saying he has a lot to live up to with his partner Dianne Buswell. His bandmate Jay McGuiness took part in the 13th series of Strictly, and he won with his partner Aliona Vilani, so there is a lot of pressure.
The first official couple dances will take place this weekend (October 24) but all competitors will be safe this week as there will be no elimination. This is purely a chance for viewers to get a taste of what is to come.
Actress Caroline Quentin and Johannes Radebe take on the American Smooth as their first dance, and Quentin has shown an eagerness to go far in the competition.
Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo and partner Aljaž Škorjanec try the Cha Cha, and fans have high hope for the couple. One said on Twitter: “Eeeeeeek love this partnership @claraamfo @alijazskorjanec routing for you both.”
Former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith and Anton Du Beke try the classy Foxtrot first of all, and fans said it was the most predictable pairing this series.
Olympic boxing champion Nicola Adams and her professional partner Katya Jones go all-in with the Quickstep, and fans are definitely behind her, with one saying on Twitter: “Nicola Adams just comes across as such a pure human being #Strictly.”
Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice attempt the Paso Doble, whereas Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer try the Cha Cha.

I’m ready to work hard and she is ready to make sure I do! “This is all very real now, good luck to everyone, let’s do this!”
Fans have predicted Jacqui Smith will be the first to leave the competition, with Maisie Smith taking the top spot as the predicted winner.
Max and HRVY are also towards the top end of the board when it comes to selecting a potential winner for the 2020 series.
The 2020 final is due to take place on December 19, with the first of the eliminations taking place on October 31 – fans will be able to start voting on this day.
As always the results shows will take place the Sunday after each episode has aired, and fans will discover who has been sent home for that week.
