After petitioning for a season five, fans got what they want and all seemed great in Lucifer world.
However, in a bittersweet announcement, Netflix confirmed it would be the last season ever, although most fans and cast believed the series had at least two more seasons in it.
With a long history of petitioning, Lucifer fans are back campaigning after also getting the show signed up by Netflix after Fox cancelled the show after season three.
Fans have been clamouring for the opinions of the cast and producers as they hope they will try to save the show.
Now, showrunner Ildy Modrovich has taken to Twitter to respond to fans answering for her opinion.
She said: “Sorry I’ve been quiet on this issue. Truth is, it’s cuz I’m torn. So much of me could do #Lucifer forever. But I’m also immensely grateful YOU & @netflix gave us the chance to continue our story together.
“And I know S5 is going to be a love letter to our #Lucifans so…”
She summed up what a lot of fans are feeling about the announcement, with one saying: “I think most of us are feeling the same way. We have complete faith that everybody making the show will do justice to Lucifer, but also we feel there may be a need for a Season 6.
“I’m torn too. Thank you for your honesty Idly.”
Another added: “Thank YOU guys for the best show! We trust you 100% and know that you’re going to give us the most amazing final season ever.”
However, another fan was more scathing: “Feel the same sad.. angry…happy. To be honest, feeling happy is really hard at the moment. Of course I agree that without them there wouldn’t be season four and season five, but to end it so soon after saving it, I will never understand that not with the success of #Lucifer.
“I really hoped at least we get more episodes. Felt like a new beginning. I hoped our beloved show finally got a home it deserves. After all the ideas you and Joe [Henderson] told u, it’s really hard to know we won’t see it all.
“Don’t get me wrong I know and trust you all that season five will be amazing. But also there isn’t much space.
She has revealed season five will have ten episodes like season four.
The showrunner has also previously revealed what to expect from season five: “We really try to ping it in a completely different direction.
“If everybody is speculating on one thing, we just try to think as a bats**t as we can, as outside of the box as possible, so that people don’t get bored, so we don’t get bored.
“We do have an idea. It’s an idea that when it came up in the room, we went, ‘Oh god, that’s crazy.’ Then the more we talked about it, the more we went, ‘and brilliant.'”
Meanwhile, Detective Dan star Kevin Alejandro has teased there could be tragedy coming in his romance with Ella Lopez (played by Aimee Garcia).
He also suggested there is a “dark turn” coming in season five.
