Amy and JJ have impressed the Strictly Come Dancing judges and viewers alike all series long, making it to the show’s quarter-final stage. And they continued to wow in week six, securing third spot on the BBC show’s leaderboard with a score of 25, narrowly behind HRVY and Maisie Smith. It was Clara Amfo who was the latest celeb to be sent home and hoping to avoid that fate in week seven, JJ and Amy will be taking on the Charleston.
The Charleston is renowned for its high-paced and complex routines whenever its rolled out on the Strictly dance floor.
So far this season, Clara and Aljaz Skorjanec tacked the dance in week four, while Jamie Laing went from “zero to hero” with his performance alongside Karen Hauer in week three.
JJ and Amy will be hoping to do the same and shared an update of how training is going for it on Thursday’s It Takes Two.
Speaking to BBC viewers, Amy said: “Charleston is super fast!
Their Charleston will be performed to the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang theme song, which JJ remarked was a hell of a “step change”.
He added: “That’s the amazing thing about this show, one week to the next, nothing’s the same and you’re back at square one on Monday morning.
“But it’s a classic, who doesn’t love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?” JJ excitedly asked It Takes Two host Zoe Ball.
Speaking of what she expects from JJ in week seven, Amy weighed in: “You know what, he’s already bringing joy and cuteness.
