The Mother of Dragons has lost almost everything dear to her and it seems she could go to desperate lengths in order to get the only thing left for her, the Iron Throne.
Many have wondered if she would follow in her father’s footsteps and become the “Mad Queen”, taking extreme measures to be the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
Now, fans have spotted the clue they needed to apparently confirm the ending of not only season eight, but of Game of Thrones as a whole.
Way back in season two, Daenerys had a tell-all vision after visiting the House of the Undying to reclaim her stolen dragons.
She had a dream where she walked towards the Iron Throne which she has believed was hers since the beginning.
However, it wasn’t King’s Landing that fans would recognise as it had been completely destroyed.
Furthermore, dust rained down from everywhere as she ominously walked towards what she believed was rightfully hers.
However, what many didn’t discuss was the implications that she may have burned everyone.
At the end of season eight, episode four, Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) was brutally slain by Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
Before she was beheaded, Missandei’s final word to Daenerys and her army was “Dracarys”, meaning “burn”.
Famously, Daenerys’ father, Aerys Targaryen’s (David Rintoul) final act on the Iron Throne was to “burn them all”, meaning he wanted to release Wild Fire and destroy King’s Landing.
Daenerys seemed to be resolved in the final shot of the season and is more than prepared to end any of her enemies, even if innocent people get in the way.
But will the prophecy come true? Or will someone get in the way and stop Daenerys before it’s too late?
Episode five, which is currently not titled, will air overnight on Sky Atlantic.
It is believed there will be a huge clash between Cersei and Daenerys as they fight for the Iron Throne.
Meanwhile, some believe it will be a bloodbath that will claim the life of Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).
She might have been the slayer of the Night King (Vladimir Furdik), but many think Daenerys will kill her.
Surely Daenerys would meet her end if she did, but it would certainly make for a dramatic twist.
Game of Thrones continues Sunday on HBO in the USA and the following day on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
