Paula, who’d been playing on ITV game show Cash Trapped for eight days, and the rest of the players were visibly emotional as she surprised everyone by saying she wanted to leave, which Bradley Walsh admitted he hadn’t seen coming.
At the start of Monday’s episode of Cash Trapped, Bradley joked about how long the current group of contestants had been playing for.
“It’s day eight – they’re running out of pants,” he said, without asking if anyone needed spare underwear.
Before the game started he even asked if he and the contestants would ever break free of their time together.
“Is it exciting, or is it Groundhog Day?”

Paula soon explained the reason why as she told the host: “I’ve gotta get back, I’ve got a family.”
On joining Bradley on the main stage, Paula explained she was “sad to go” but was adamant.
Bradley asked once more if she was absolutely certain.
“Are you sure you want to forfeit your place?”
Afterwards, Bradley shared his surprise with the remaining contestants and viewers at home.
“Wow. I didn’t see that coming because Paula had played so well.”
Paula, though, explained while it was a hard decision, it was the only decision she had to make after eight days on the show.
“I don’t want to leave but I’ve got responsibilities. I’ve got a family… It’s just so mentally exhausting. You’re concentrating all the time. It’s hard and I miss me kids.”
Cash Trapped continues on ITV tomorrow at 5pm.
