Appearing on the stage, Akshat told the judges he wanted only to make people smile with his performance on the ITV panel show.
Taking to the stage after his introduction, the teenager showcased a routine of impressive dance moves, wowing the judges and the audience alike.
Following his performance, the judges commended the youngster on his performance and just as they were about to give him the seal of approval, the 43-year-old Geordie duo jumped in.
With the panel set to give Akshat four yeses, Ant and Dec beat them to it by pressing the Golden Buzzer, meaning the teenager would be sent straight through to the live semi-finals.
However, although some viewers at home enjoyed Akshat’s performance, others weren’t too happy with Ant and Dec’s decision to send him through to the live shows.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: “Yes he was fun, yes he moved a bit. Golden buzzer material? I don’t think so. #bgt.”
Another posted: “Really?? A #GoldenBuzzer for that???? #BGT #BGT2019 #BritainsGotTalent2019 #BritainsGotTalent.”
Whilst a third simply remarked: “The kid was good best so far tonight but not golden buzzer worthy #BGT.”
Though, not everyone objected to the Golden Buzzer choice as a fourth opined: “I’m sorry but if he can make people smile that much totally deserves that buzzer! Smashed it kid #BGT.”
As Ant and Dec pressed the Golden Buzzer, the youngster was overcome with emotion as the judges stood to applaud Akshat.
The duo then took to the stage to congratulate the teenager with the pair joking: “Can we keep him now?” as they were ecstatic by their choice.
Akshat then reiterated his motto, telling the audience he only wanted “to be happy and to make others happy.”
Tonight’s Golden Buzzer was the third of the series after Simon Cowell, 59, decided to put through comedian Kojo Anim.
The week before, David Walliams, 47, chose to send through Flakefleet Primary School after their spellbinding routine to Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now.
This means Amanda Holden, 48, and Alesha Dixon, 40, are yet to make their choices but the pair were left teetering on the edge of their seats this evening.
After commending the duo, Simon took to the stage to have the knives thrown at him whilst stood against a black board.
However, as Simon took his position, Ant and Dec issued the music mogul a warning from the sidelines, telling the judge: “You realise this is series 13!”
Though, Simon wasn’t put off and completed his guest appearance on the show unscathed.
