Boris Johnson coronavirus: PM could take ‘6-8 weeks to recover’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

During the show, Morgan and Reid welcomed an recovered coronavirus patient, Matt Dockray, to the show, who discussed his time in hospital.

Dockray had a particularly difficult time with COVID-19, and was himself taken to ICU to combat the virus.

Showing off photos of himself in a ventilator mask, it was clear Dockray had a tough time fighting this horrific disease.

Speaking to the GMB hosts, Dockray explained his journey and suggested the Prime Minister could have a similar time frame in hospital as he did.

Speaking specifically about being taken to ICU, Dockray explained it was the turning point for his illness.

He explained: “That was my point to kick in and start recovering.”

Dockray went on to add that, shortly after being put in the ICU, the doctors surrounding him started discussing other methods of recovery, including “intrusive surgery”.

Dockray was also keen to explain: “To go from that extreme – literally a couple of weeks ago – intensive care for a week – to breathing and talking…

“It’s a testament that you can get to that point.”

Referencing the Prime Minister’s condition, he speculated: “You can get back to normal.

“There’s still a long road to recovery. It’s a long way – it could be six-to-eight weeks – but there is a way out of this.”

Morgan praised Dockray for his bravery and thanked him for appearing on the show.

He said: “It gives us hope you can get through it.”
